Skincare recommendations for dry skin

Colorado is absolutely beautiful and I am so lucky to live here my entire life. Although the mountains are flawless, my skin surely hasn’t been. With it being so dry most of the time, it can be hard to find products that work for my skin type (dry, combo) that don’t break the bank or that make my skin so slippery. I have suffered with acne my entire life up until now and tried many products. If you are looking for skincare recommendations for dry skin, you have come to the right place. The products listed below are part of my regular skin care regimen and have worked miracles for me and my skin. Click on the pictures for a direct link to the website!

CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser with Hyaluronic Acid-

This face wash was recommended to me when I first started out with cystic acne at 16 years old. This product was developed by dermatologists and clean of many ingredients such as fragrance and parabens. They also make a CeraVe Hydrating to Foam cleanser which works just as well but lathers more if you prefer that. Click on the picture below to shop!

Tula The Cult Classic Purifying Face Cleanser-

I started using this when I got pregnant in 2020 with my second daughter. I wanted to try something different and saw many positive reviews on this. This cleanser is made with probiotics and superfoods which helped with my pregnancy hormonal acne. It leaves your face feeling hydrated and not stripped of moisture. The bottle lasted me over six months and is a great value for the amount of product it contains. This cleanser does have a light fragrance but was not irritating or very noticable.

Lancôme Tonique Confort Re-Hydrating Comforting Toner with Acacia Honey-

If you have dry skin, this is a must. I put this on whenever my skin needs an extra hydration boost. I apply this right after washing my face and before I put any serums or moisturizer on. I like this because it is a thick consistency and really soaks into the skin. It contains Hyaluronic Acid, Acacia Honey and Sweet Almond Oil which is great for anti-aging and moisturizing. This product is lightly fragranced but the scent disappears after applying.

Sunday Riley C.E.O. 15% Vitamin C Brightening Serum-

Over the years I have tried many different Vitamin C serums and this is my absolute favorite. It smells like oranges and leaves my skin feeling hydrated and refreshed. Instantly my skin is brighter and my dark spots on my face have started to fade. Although this product is on the higher end when it comes to price, you are getting what you pay for with this product.

The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 Hydrating Serum-

Glowing youthful skin IS achievable with this product! This affordable serum is very hydrating and contains Hyaluronic Acid and B5 which are both anti-aging properties. I use this every other day in the morning and alternate this with the Vitamin C serum listed above. I have noticed my skin looking brighter overall, my makeup lasting longer, and my skin more moisturized while wearing this.

Sunday Riley Good Genes All-In-One AHA Lactic Acid Treatment-

Although this may be the most expensive product I share on this post, it is one of the most recommended. I typically only use this at night after I wash my face and before moisturizer. This serum is great for hyperpigmentation, dark spots, and helps prevent wrinkles. It doesn’t dry out my face or irritate me at all and is great for acne scarring. This product does contain fragrance so if you are sensitive to scents you may need to leave this one out.

Skinfix Barrier+ Triple Lipid-Peptide Face Cream-

The best moisturizer I have found for dry skin. This keeps my skin moisturized all day and can be worn both in the morning and evening. The packaging is convenient with the top having a press down dispenser which allows no contamination or germs to be entered into the product. This moisturizer is not scented and works great for all different skin types.

Youth To The People Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask with Vitamin C-

If you want to wake up with glowing and flawless skin, I highly recommend trying this night mask. I have repurchased this several times and recommended it to clients when I worked at Sephora. This is a clean product and contains only healthy ingredients for humans and the environment. You only need a small amount to see a big difference with your skin the next morning. This product is lightly scented.

Supergoop! Glowscreen Sunscreen SPF 40 PA+++-

Did you know it is crucial to wear sunscreen every day on your face? This sunscreen can be worn alone or underneath makeup. When worn alone, it creates a beautiful natural glow. Under makeup, it doesn’t pill and works great even with other skincare products applied beforehand. Supergoop also offers many different types of sunscreen for those who may not be wanting a glow version.

Tula Rose Glow & Get It Cooling & Brightening Eye Balm-

While this is not a preventative eye balm for wrinkles, but feels incredible on the skin. It is brightening and cooling and works great without makeup, with makeup, or even as a pick me up brightener when you are falling asleep at your desk throughout the day. This eye balm also prevents and treats puffy eyes. It also comes in a convenient pink container stick. It doesn’t get any better than that!
