Hatch Baby Sound Machine & Nightlight-
I ended up putting this on my baby registry with my second child Penelope, and I am so thankful I did. I didn’t have this with my oldest and wish I found it sooner! This white noise machine offers several different sounds ranging from birds chirping, the rain, nighttime lullabies, nature sounds, and more. It lights up and works as a night light with the option to choose from any color. What I like about this the most is that it is controlled by either manually turning it on or with bluetooth. The volume, sound, color, and brightness are all customizable and able to be changed from any room in your home while the baby is sleeping. As my kids grow older, they can continue to use this as a night light as it will grow with them. Having this allows me to not worry about the baby waking up when I made sudden noise throughout the house and she is able to sleep much better at night because of it.
Baby Delight Alpine Deluxe Portable Infant Bouncer-
Thank yourself later and purchase a baby bouncer. Having a baby bouncer is crucial in my home as I can bring it with me into any room to get things done. You will find many different options for bouncers out there but I like this one as it is simple, made with organic material, and durable. This one is gender neutral and also comes in a variety of other colors such as charcoal, pink, and indigo. A similar looking one from the brand Baby Bjorn is two-hundred dollars and this one is half the price.
Zipper Baby Pajamas–
There’s nothing worse than changing a diaper in the middle of the night and the baby is wearing… snap pajamas! It has taken both times going through the newborn stages with my girls to realize that the best baby pajamas are the ones with zippers. It takes less time to change a diaper and it’s easier for an impatient baby. My favorite pajamas are these bamboo ones from Kyte Baby. They are made with 97% bamboo and 3% spandex so they are incredibly soft and breathable for baby. Kyte baby also makes awesome sleep bags and crib sheets as well!
FridaBaby Baby Nasal Aspirator-
You may have seen jokes about this all over TikTok but I promise you this works so great! Yes, it is a disgusting concept but I would do anything to make my kids feel better, including sucking out their snot (ew). Basically, you hold up the opening of the blue tube to their nose and suck with the red part in your mouth and it will suction their snot out into the tube. There is a filter so snot does not go into your mouth, but I have used this with both of my kids and swear by it.
Graco Baby Swing-
This is a non-negotiable baby item in my home. We have this baby swing and it is the best item to have for a newborn. If you plan on purchasing anything from this page, let it be this. Newborns love to be rocked to sleep and have constant movement. This swing gives you the ability to have baby rocked either side to side or front and back. You can also turn on the sound activation which plays white noise such as birds chirping or musical tunes. The button on the bottom gives you the option to have the swing vibrate while baby is swinging. My kids both used a swing up until six months and it allowed me to get homework done, get some sleep, and soothe baby when she wasn’t feeling well.
Glider and Ottoman-
Much like the baby swing, this is a great addition to baby’s nursery. Newborns and babies love to be soothed by rocking motions and this has helped us so many nights when our baby had trouble falling asleep on her own. Even with our 18 month old toddler, it still comes in handy on some days. This one from Amazon is affordable and easy to set up and comes in a variety of colors and patterns.
Skip Hop Baby Gym, Farmstand Grow & Play-
One of my favorite purchases is this farm themed baby play mat. I started using this when Penelope was about one month old and we used it until she was about eight months. With so many different colors and patterns, babies are able to look at all the fruits and vegetables and practice laying on their back, doing tummy time, and playing with all the textured toys this mat comes with. The top bended portion also turns into a growth chart which you can use to keep track of baby’s length.
